A device for collecting soil samples beneath the surface of the ground. A sample core barrel is provided with a removable cutting shoe with attached Clear Polycarbonate Round Tube so that soil samples will stay safe during the collection and retrieval process of soil samples. With a sample core barrel locked on the sampler drive rod to specified torque, the Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler is ready to be driven to any desired depth. After the Sureshot has been inserted into the ground ,then screw on the recommended 1.5 “ outside diameter percussion drill rod . Various lengths may be required to get to determined depth. Ensuring all percussion drill rod connections stay tight during the opening of the soil sampler . Turn the entire string of drill rod to the right 50 rotations. The Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler is now open to core up to 12” of soil sample . Now drive the sampler 1 more foot to desired depth into soil. ( Sample core barrels come in various lengths). Now simply hook on to drill string and retrieve it from the core hole. Remove the cutting shoe and slide out the Clear Polycarbonate Round Tube exposing soil sampled elements.
The Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler’s first apparatus would be the removable soil cutting shoe. It is manufactured with a conical shaped edge on one end and a 1.875” O.D. dual percussion drill rod thread on the other. A Clear Polycarbonate Round Tube for safe soil collection is also attached to the dual percussion drill rod thread end of the soil cutting shoe. By an external flare cut on the end of the dual percussion drill rod thread . The removable soil cutting shoe apparatus enters the ground first when collecting soil samples. There is a recessed internal cut on the dual percussion drill rod thread end of the removable soil cutting shoe. Which prevents soil sampler drive rod tip from extending out of the end of the removable soil cutting shoe. This shoe is also tapered to minimize scraping soil off of the sides of the hole.
The Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler comprises 3 total parts. Making this discrete soil sampler the most user friendly soil sampling tool on the market today.
The Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler is designed to be used with Direct Push or Percussion drilling Machines. The Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler can be used with all Hollow Stem Auger drilling machines.
The sample core barrel is the Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler’s second apparatus. This apparatus on the bottom end is a 2.1875 O.D. hardened alloy steel tube with internal dual 1.875” I.D. dual percussion drill rod thread for threading in removable soil cutting shoe. The sample core barrel is 13 inches long. ( Sample core barrels come in various lengths). The upper end of the sample core barrel is where there are 1.5 inch left handed acme internal threads that allows locking the sampler drive rod against the removable soil cutting shoe. The sample core barrel houses the Clear Polycarbonate Round Tube that holds the soil samples once they have been collected. The sample core barrel apparatus enters the ground second driving the removable soil cutting shoe when collecting soil samples.
The Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler can be opened and deployed, ready for soil sampling within 15 seconds upon arrival at the determined depth into the sub-surface terrain being sampled. SURESHOT requires no extruder rods for opening.
The sample drive rod is the Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler’s third apparatus.
Precision acme threaded sample drive rod is manufactured with a conical shaped point on bottom end of the sample drive rod . These hardened alloy steel threads are broad, smooth, square and provide more strength when carrying heavier loads on the sample drive rod. There is an external retaining ring on the bottom end of the sample drive rod . It works as a rotational stop device. With this device installed. The Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler can not be over opened. On the top end of the sample drive rod is a connection point for all industry standard drill rods. Starting with a special dual lead thread 1.5 O.D. thread requiring 1 3/4 turns to connect drill rods together. This sample drive rod requires no extruder rods for opening.
The Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler is a blow count( The number of blows required to drive an object into soil). rated soil sampler. The most functionable and rugged subsurface soil sampler built today.
One of the most efficient things The Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler offers is the shank (sampler drive rod) allows the ability to use various core sample barrels ranging from 1 foot to 2 foot. Both core barrels can be mounted on the same sampler drive rod. Different core sample lengths can be offered by The Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler.
The Shank Rod Cover ( a long, narrow part of a tool connecting the handle to the operational end.) is the Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler’s forth apparatus.
This apparatus provides valuable protection from soil and any other foreign contaminated substances that may be exposed to any part of the sampler drive rod. A Polycarbonate Round Tube is used to protect the exterior part of the soil sampler drive rod shank.( sampler drive rod). This apparatus measures 1.625 O.D. x 1.50 I.D. This Shank Rod Cover comes in various lenghts.
One of the biggest things The Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler offers is the shank (sampler drive rod) allows the ability to use various core sample barrels ranging from 1 foot to 2 foot. Both core barrels can be mounted on the same sampler drive rod. Different core sample lengths can be offered by The Sureshot Discrete Soil Sampler.
The Sureshot Discrete (soil from a known location and depth) Soil Sampler when open adds direct weight of the shank (sampler drive rod ) above the sample core barrel for maximum core penetration.
